What's Your Theme Song?

What if everybody had their own theme song? What theme song would you be? Imagine if you were walking into a rival basketball game what song would you want to play? I would want TNT by AC/DC. Or how about when you are walking into take a huge test during school, what song would you like to play then? How about Can't touch this by MC Hammer? When school is about to be released and you are just staring at that clock how about Final Countdown by Europe? Can you imagine this? Can't you just hear the music? See music outlines a lot of things. It can define who you are and what you stand for. My theme song would most likely be Pocket full of sunshine by Natasha Beddingfield because I am always smiling. If it isn't that then it would be Hakunna Matata by the Lion King. When somebody sees me walking towards them, and that song starts to play, they have no option but to smile and nod with me. So to conclude this thought, take a moment and think about your theme song;but think about it with caution. If it's a song that your grandmother won't approve of then don't chose it!

Music Therapy (:

Last night I was laying in my bed thinking when I got this theory that I just had to share. Always when I am laying in bed, I have music going on Pandora. Pandora just randonly pops up songs that catagorize in your chosen genre. My chosen genre last night was country. So here I was, laying on my back staring at the ceiling. Every time a new song started to play, a new thought process was formed. Then I realized, with every song a certain memory tags along with it. Most songs I had no idea what they were, but by listening to the lyrics I had a flashback. So in a way, songs are theraputic.
Have you ever just sat there and actually listened to the lyrics to a song? Maybe you should try it more often. They may strike you harder than you think. For example, there was a song that came on last night that reminded me of when I used to work in my dads old wood shop. I would prance around picking up scrap wood and nailing it together to try and make something unique. The song wasn't about building something with your dad. In fact it was actually about cheating on your girlfriend. The only reason it brought back that memory was because I was in the shop when I heard this song first. It was refreshing to remember that memory because I don't have that oppurtunity to do that any more.

Friday Night Music

It's a Friday night and there is nobody out; no cars, no people, nothing. Everything is quiet, people are getting off of work and heading home, the grocery store is closing, yet there is something still waiting to happen. Finally, the clock strikes nine and the streets are fled with vehicles. Loud trucks, small fast cars, junky yet treasured cars, they are all out cruising Maine Street. What makes all of this fun? It's the music. The music that blares as loud as it can from every vehicle. Some people may ask, well why would you want to do that? It is because music takes us places we have never been. Every song you play, it reflects you in some way! When your driving down the street with your car filled to the max with friends and the windows down, you have nothing to take you off this high. I absolutely love going out at night for this reason. It is where the kids can just take off from all the stress of school and just cruise to their favorite song. From 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm is when we can let loose. The noise restriction doesn't take effect until then. So you better believe we are taking our chances with it and singing our music to the top of our lungs. After doing so, you feel refreshed and usually end up having a good night rest. Elder people in our town say we are just destructive on Maine street. I can related to where they are coming from, but it is the music that brings me out there. The music is what I am looking for at night, nothing more than that. So If you have never tried it, there is never a better time to do so than now. Get in your car, roll your windows down, and just turn your radio up! You will not regret it!

Kicks for Music Lovers

                                                                   (Google images)
These shoes are crazy! First off, who would ever have thought to design this? I know that who ever thought of these, had their mind in the right place; MUSIC! A true music lover would go nuts for these! Not only can you play your favorite CD, but you can plug in a jump drive or headphones and jam out while your just sitting there. My mission is to find out where you can buy these and I will get back to you guys soon! (:
My last thought on this shoe is, what if this shoe has bass? In a car it tickles up your spine, imagine what would happen when it is going on your feet! My advice would not buy them if your extremely ticklish! Unless you like to be tickled!

Story behind "Pumped Up Kicks"

When you listen to the song, Pumped up kicks, by Foster The People, you probably get lost in the catchy tune and forget to actually pay attention to what the song is about. At least this was my usual way of listening to the song. This all changed one night when I was watching the top twenty countdown and this song was on the spotlight. This very night changed my view of the song and everything behind it.

The song is actually about a young boy who was never cool in school; he wasn't actually tormented he was just ignored and an outcast really. One night, his dad brought him home a new pair of shoes that this young boy thought was the end to his reputation. He was now going to be the coolest kid in school! The very next day at school he walked in with every bit of confidence high and in sight! When the kids at his school saw him and his new shoes, they immediately started tormenting him and poking fun. The young boy had enough and went home with a broken heart and dream. That night, he stole his fathers gun from his gun case and packed it in his bag. Arriving at school he pulled it out and shot every one of those kids that made fun of him for his shoes.

So next time you hear this song and the part comes on "All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you better run, better run, outrun my gun. All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you better run, better run, faster than my bullet" Just remember what they are actually singing about.

I think this sort of event is sad but it really happens. Lately school shootings have happened a lot more and have shown what kind of problem bullying has become in our schools. I don't think this event happened in the US, but in our near by neighbors, Canada. Still though, the fact that it happened and there is a song to show the event that occurred is pretty crazy. Also, this song shows that half the poeple that sing this song don't truly know what they are even singing about. They are singing about a kid that got bullied, and decided to shoot all of the people who did it. So is this truly a song that you would want to be singing walking down the street? Or how about playing it in your car with the windows down? No doubt this song had a purpose to it unlike some in our generation, but is htis purpose one to be happy about?

Music Saved me

Last night I was thinking about how music has saved my life. Most of you are probably thinking right now, "saved her life, you have got to be kidding". Well it is true it has saved my life from complete awkwardness, which in the long run, has saved me from emotional distress. Yes I am exaggerating, but I am sure that people have been through the same situation. So here it goes!

One day I was in the mall and I felt like riding the huge glass elevator! Of course when you go to the door of the elevator, you cannot see if anybody is in it! So I push the button and patiently wait for the doors to open. As soon as they open I see that there is a man just standing there. What was I suppose to do? I didn't want to ride the elevator anymore, but I didn't want to just walk away! So here I am, between an open door with an awkward situation awaiting me, and my conscience telling me to just get in the elevator! Of course I didn't want to let me conscience down, so I walked in the elevator. With my back pressed as close to the glass as I could get it, I was not in the elevator to enjoy the view anymore!  That ride was the longest I have ever taken! He once even got the nerve to glance my way! It was like an awkward stare took place between us!
HIM!Me
Except ours didn't have smiles
Like this!

The one thing that saved him and I from an even more awkward conversation, was the holiday music echoing throughout the mall. He started to tap his foot to it, as I started to look around. Finally arriving on our floor, he left and I followed. That Awkward situation was over! YAY! Thank you music! If it wasn't for music, I would have been pressured into saying hello and starting an unwanted awkward conversation. Don't take me wrong, I am a friendly person, but not that day. I just wanted to ride the glass elevator.
